This multi-purpose facility, governed by a seven-member board of control appointed by the Mayor of Huntsville and the City Council, is equipped to accommodate major conferences, conventions, concerts, Broadway performances, ballets, symphonies, a full range of sporting events and more.
The Phase One renovation, highlighted by the Mars Music Hall & Rhythm on Monroe Restaurant, included the addition of a new ballroom/multi-purpose space of 35,000 sq. ft. that will include an outdoor terrace and renovation of the existing North Hall.
The addition of 14,000 sq. ft. of breakout meeting space, new pre-function/lobby of 15,000 sq. ft, new concourse that will seamlessly connect to the existing South Hall concourse and the Embassy Suites hotel, extension of the existing concourse leading from the Concert Hall and Arena to the newly constructed facilities, the addition of a new full-service kitchen and the addition of a 1,200 capacity music hall and food and beverage venue.
Malone's work was quite extensive to the renovation of the Von Braun Center. Malone furnished and installed 14,500 square foot of 22-gauge 7.2 Rib Single Skin Exposed Fastener Metal Wall Panels manufactured by Petersen Aluminum, as well as all required Sub framing, flashings and rigid insulation, as well as 20,500 square feet of 4 mm Aluminum Composite Wall panels manufactured by Citadel.
Furthermore, the entire project required sub framing and rigid insulation which was fabricated and installed by E. Cornell Malone Corporation.
The project began on May 29, 2019 and was completed on November 18, 2019 marking the second phase that Malone has completed for the Von Braun Center in the last eight years.
All ACM panels and flashings fabricated by E. Cornell Malone Corporation As always, safety is our top priority and this project was completed with zero safety issues. The Malone team worked out of man lifts as well as scaffolding to complete the project.
