The Wind Creek Casino is a unique project in the fact that there were numerous different roofing and wall assemblies that had to be completed on a fast-track schedule. Many of these products were long lead items, abnormal sizes, irregular angles, and custom colors. Click on the llink above for a more detailed description of this special project.

Low Slope Roofing: The main roof assembly involved about 175,000 SF of hot applied SBS modified bitumen membrane roofing. Most of these roofs required tapered insulation in order to provide positive slope. There was also over 25,000 SF of fully adhered TPO single ply membrane roof and flashings. This product was mostly used at the 14’ tall parapets at the oval Casino parapet walls. The VIP balconies required over 2,000 SF of PVC waterproofing membrane and custom size pavers.

Steep Slope Roofing: This project involved over 60,000 SF of standing seam metal roofing. Many of these roofs were scattered around the project. The most unique applications were at the Hotel Tower. ECMC had to install over 11,000 SF of concave/convex radiused panels at over 175’ tall. What made this application even more difficult was the overall length of the panels was approximately 130’. Installing the 5’ ledge metal roof panels was another difficult application at the Hotel Tower. These panels had to be installed from cantilevered scaffolds from the 17th floor.

Wall Panels: There were numerous different wall panels installed at the building exteriors. The most notable is the Zinc tiles imported from Italy and installed around the entire exterior of the Casino walls. The Casino walls are oval and the Zinc tiles were installed on a 20 degree angle. Another imported product was the Wooden Composite Panels which were shipped from Spain. ECMC installed 2 colors and they are located at the VIP Villa Walls. ECMC also installed about 15,000 SF of custom colored wet sealed ACM panels with a custom color caulk.

These panels were installed with angular vertical joints and many of the panels were radiused. One of the most difficult applications was the horizontal siding at the Hotel Tower. These panels are located approximately 175’ above the ground and had to be installed from cantilevered scaffolds from the 17th floor. ECMC also fabricated and installed the custom column covers at the horizontal siding.

Waterproofing: ECMC installed over 225,000 SF of foil faced waterproofing underlayments which included all exterior walls except where glass or stucco was to be installed. This process was more time consuming than normally because the subsurface had to primed before installation.
